Postgraduate Researcher in Head Impact Biomechanics
Position Description:
Simbex is currently seeking a post-graduate/post-doctoral researcher to assist in our
ongoing studies (NIH and NOCSAE) of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Our company and
collaborative research partners are uniquely positioned to understand mTBI using a multidisciplinary
approach encompassing real-time on-field measures of head acceleration (HIT
System), neural imaging (e.g., fMRI, DTI), neurocognitive testing, and on-field
symptomotology. The long-term goal of our research is to understand the pathomechanics
and clinical sequelae of mTBI, enabling translational research and development of new
clinical and therapeutic techniques to reduce the incidence and negative effects of
mTBI. Our research to date has collected over 1 million impacts on over 1000 individuals across
football, hockey, boxing, skiing, soccer, and equestrian.
