TREAT is focused on facilitating technical translation of rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology research. We anticipate that providing funding for such projects will accelerate the process of technology translation for rehabilitation research and thus will positively impact new methodologies available for rehabilitation and disabled individuals.
For rehabilitation and assistive technology researchers looking to launch a pilot project, TREAT offers support via multiple different avenues of investigation. Sabbaticals and Pilot Grants are available for researchers and projects that are: 1) at an early stage and need support to create pilot data that may eventually lead to an extramurally funded project or third party investment or 2) for advancing the development and commercialization of an existing technology related to rehabilitation [research] at any pre-commercial stage. The proposed research MUST be readily identifiable as addressing issues in rehabilitation or assistive technology.
We offer fee-for-services which include prototyping and development, comparative evaluation and technology assessment. We are currently accepting applications for Pilot Grants and Sabbaticals! Please download the RFA and application form using the links above or contact Joshua Nelson at jnelson@simbex.com for more information.
